History of plastic bottles

A plastic bottle is a type of bottle that is made of plastic.

Plastic bottles are commonly used to store liquids such as water, carbonated beverages, motor oils, cooking oils, medicines, shampoos, milk and inks.

Plastic bottles range from very small samples for sample bottles to very large 60 liter bottles. A plastic bottle is a plastic container with a narrower opening than its body, which is usually covered with a plastic opening of its own.

Plastic methods were first promoted in 1947; but they were relatively expensive until the early 1960s, when dense polyethylene was introduced. They quickly became popular among manufacturers and consumers due to their low production and handling costs and their light weight compared to glass bottles.

However, the biggest advantage of plastic bottles over glass is their resistance to breakage in production and handling. With the exception of wine and beer, the food industry has completely replaced plastic bottles with glass bottles.

Rising prices of petrochemicals are the reason for the high prices

“The increase in the price of raw materials by petrochemicals has had a great impact on the cost of these containers, and this has led to the recent rise in prices,” said the secretary of the House of Industry, Mines and Commerce, referring to the high cost of disposable containers.

Due to exchange rate fluctuations and rising petrochemical prices, the cost of production is constantly rising; this is why prices in the market are constantly changing.

In the past, production was such that we exported to neighboring countries such as Iraq, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Pakistan and Afghanistan, but now producers are having trouble returning their currency according to central bank directives. This has led to increased pressure on them in recent months.

Khanizadeh emphasizes: Producers who export their products have no choice but to return the currency; Since their production depends on this money, one should not worry about the return of producers’ currency. Unfortunately, such problems and shortcomings have caused production to take place in the country with very difficult conditions.

The difference between plastic bottles and glass bottles

Plastic bottles:

  • Good mechanical properties, light weight, easy storage and transport, easy to carry and easy to use
  • Good strength, good seal and high transparency
  • Good processing performance, able to produce bottles, covers, films, bags and composite packaging materials of various sizes
  • Decorative coloring and printing function. Identify materials, specifications, labels, barcodes can be directly inked or printed on plastic material without falling
  • Good chemical stability, poor toxicity, health and safety. The drug door can be used as a cover or pressure cover, as well as anti-counterfeit detection and so on.

Glass bottles

Glass bottles:

  • Abundant raw materials, recyclable and reusable, without environmental pollution
  • High rot and easy to break
  • Heavy weight and high shipping cost
  • High energy consumption and serious environmental pollution during processing
  • Poor printing performance
